Lets just start somewhere. Because that is my trouble. I would like to see it all mapped out before I start… Do you know this feeling?
I am currently not sure where this page ends up and not sure if this is what a blog should look like. I am not even sure about the language! I would like to write in English and Dutch as they both flow in my head at different moments. But I am going to start anyway. Apparently in English as that is where my head is today.
Discovering (my) Ikigai.
Discovering Ikigai is my new itinerary. I feel like I am going to explore a new country. Finally…. It took some time… I couldn’t wait to go on a new adventure. This destination I stumbled upon by luck. I do not know a lot about it yet, but I will gradually grow into it. Ikigai…..
In a minute I will buy a travel guide as I would do on any journey. Just to explore some things before you set off. I love to read about new places I am going. I would like to read about highlights and see lots of pictures. And in the end I can see my desired route mapped out before my eyes. I love that process. Feeling the excitement of a new place I am going to visit. Feeling the tension of new challenges.
You are welcome to travel with me. Straight from day one: today! Lets go on this journey together, I would love to! Just for a couple of days if you feel like it. Just for part of the trip. Or for the whole adventure. Whatever we like. See how it feels. See what you like. Lets enjoy it together!
When I was just 18 years old, I went on my own to Australia. I travelled with whoever I met and liked. I met so many different and so many interesting people, it was liberating. This journey is the same. I have no idea yet where I go and who I will meet. Maybe we can discover some elements of the trip together. When you feel like meeting, please introduce yourself and we will feel how we go together. We help each other, we laugh, we work together just as long as it feels good. Then we both go further on our own journey.
Travel guide
But now back to the guidebook. Did you find a good one? I have been recommended two books. One about Ikigai (Ikigai The Japanese secret to a long and happy life by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles). And one about how to find your own ikigai (Ikigai Journey A Practical Guide to Finding Happiness and Purpose the Japanese Way by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles). I am drawn towards the second as this would be a shortcut and I love getting somewhere fast. But I guess as a travel guide the first one works better. I will order it right away and while waiting on it to appear at my doorstep I will write some more about how I did get here.
I love you are travelling with me! Please leave your comments and let me learn from you and hopefully you from me. Where did you already go on your journey to Ikigai? Did you discover some beauty yet we should go as well? What are your recommendations?
