A very inspirational Ted talk from Shantell Martin: “I found a thing [pen] that connected my head to my heart and my hand to everything.” She makes artworks that are only lines. But she is not thinking where her pen needs to go, she does it the other way round. Her pen leads the way….

I remember that feeling. It is what I did when I was in difficult times. I just let my hand draw doodles and all kind of interesting insights in my head appeared. She took it a step further and draw first her bedroom and later all over Times Square. Very inspirational to see where it brought her and how it made her find herself.

And I think that is what we all try to do. We try to find something that connects our head and our heart. And hopefully we find a way to voice it as well.
